The commissioner for the internal market, Michel Barnier, has informed EUROPE that given the fact that European finance ministers have been focusing on the recent legislative proposal to introduce a single supervisory mechanism in the eurozone (see other article), they have not had time to address the “Liikanen” report on the structure of the banking sector, planned for Tuesday 2 October. This dossier will be on the agenda of the next Ecofin Council agenda on Tuesday 9 October in Luxembourg. (MB/transl.fl)
