Brussels, 17/09/2012 (Agence Europe) - The annual session of the Facility for Euro-Mediterranean Investment and Partnership (FEMIP) took place in Nicosia on Friday 14 September within the context of the European Ecofin Council.
According to an official press statement from the EIB, in addition to the 2011 activities report and setting out the 2013 work programme objectives, ministers attending the meeting explained that the FEMIP should focus more on projects that generate, “socially-inclusive growth, job creation (particularly for the youth), private sector development, including SME and micro-finance lending, as well as economic and social infrastructure development”. EIB president, Werner Hoyer, said that, “We are ready to optimise resources and develop further partnerships in the Mediterranean”. (FB/trans/fl)
