European Parliament regrets pardon of Ramil Safarov

Strasbourg14/09/2012 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 13 September, the European Parliament deplored the decision of the president of Azerbaijan to pardon Ramil Safarov, sentenced for the assassination of an Armenian in Hungary. The Parliament said that this pardon is a breach of diplomatic assurances which the Azeri request agreed to give the Hungarian authorities. During a debate, the MEPs regretted that Hungary does not protest more about this situation.
