05/09/2012 (Agence Europe) - Mergers: Trinecke Zelezarny a.s./ZDB Group a.s. On Tuesday 4 September, the European Commission granted clearance to the acquisition of the wire mill business of the ZDB Group (Czech Republic) by Trinecke Zelezarny (Czech Republic). Trinecke Zelezarny is active in the production of various steel products, including wire rod and other hot-rolled long steel products, semi-finished products, hot-rolled universal wide steel, seamless tubes and drawn and peeled steel (e.g. cold-drawn wire and peeled steel bars). The ZDB Group is active in the production and distribution of cold drawn wires and products made of cold drawn wires. The operation was examined under the simplified merger review procedure. (OL)
