Brussels, 27/08/2012 (Agence Europe) - Having launched a website attacking the nationals of countries of central and eastern Europe and one in early August criticising the lifestyles of European civil servants, the populist Dutch party of Geert Wilders, the PVV, is now attacking asylum seekers. Last week, the party put forward the idea that centres for those seeking asylum in the Netherlands be established in countries such as Romania. As part of the PVV plan, all asylum seekers presenting themselves in the Netherlands would be immediately put onto a plane to await the decision on their residency permit abroad. Mr Wilders believes that this plan offers "spectacular advantages". "The disagreements caused by asylum seekers would disappear at a stroke and the cost of hosting them would be reduced enormously", the Belgian press agency Belga reports. The country is in an election campaign, with general elections scheduled for 12 September. (SP/transl.fl)
