03/08/2012 (Agence Europe) - At WTO Indonesia targets EU antidumping rights against fatty alcohols. On 30 July, Indonesia presented the WTO with a request for consultations regarding permanent and temporary EU anti-dumping measures on exports of fatty alcohols used in the chemical industry. Jakarta is arguing that European measures are possibly incompatible with the Anti-Dumping Agreement and the GATT agreement of 1994. Consultations, the formal starting point in WTO dispute settlement procedures, will last 60 days. If they do not succeed in settling the dispute, the plaintiff will be able to request a special group be set up to come to a decision. (EH/transl.fl)
