Brussels, 25/07/2012 (Agence Europe) - On 25 July, the European Commission gave the go-ahead to restructuring aid for German regional banks BayernLB and Nord/LB. The Commission approved the aid for BayernLB in the light of pledges by Germany to fundamentally restructure the bank and on condition that BayernLB repays €5 billion of state aid in the next seven years. The Commission says that the state aid of €3.3bn for Nord/LB complies with EU state aid rules. (OL/transl.fl)
