A meeting between the deputy to the high representative of the EU in charge of the Iranian nuclear dossier, Helga Schmid, and her opposite number, the deputy secretary to the supreme National Security Council of Iran, Ali Bagheri, will take place in Istanbul this Tuesday 24 July, the spokesperson to the high representative has announced. This meeting comes further to the agreement obtained in Moscow on 19 June at the meeting between Iran and the E3+3 (Germany, France, the United Kingdom, China, Russia and the United States) and will be followed by contact between Catherine Ashton and her counterpart Said Jalili, “on the prospects of a meeting at political level”, the spokesperson added.
