Brussels, 09/07/2012 (Agence Europe) - By granting a loan of €100 million to the Irish government, the European Investment Bank (EIB) has decided to partially fund the investment programme being carried out by the Irish Ministry for Education and Skills for schools in Ireland. The programme, the total estimated cost of which is €219 million, includes construction work and extensions in and renovation of several small-size schools throughout Ireland. Building these new architecturally attractive schools is being carried as part of an effort to improve the quality of services provided and the efficiency of supply in educational services. 550 new classrooms will be built. Construction and renovation work will be carried out in 35 primary and 12 secondary schools. (OL/transl.fl)
