Brussels, 01/06/2012 (Agence Europe) - The law of the Netherlands on a purchasing power allowance for elderly taxpayers, voted through in June 2011, is said not to be in line with European legislation as it discriminates against Dutch pensioners living in another member state. The European Commission therefore sent a reasoned opinion to the authorities of the Netherlands on Thursday 31 May, calling on them to amend the legislation on this within two months.
