Brussels, 01/06/2012 (Agence Europe) - On 31 May, the European Commission sent reasoned opinions to Italy and Romania to get them to transpose into their laws EU rules on defence procurement (Directive 2009/43/EC), which should have been introduced by 30 June 2011. Directive 2009/43/EC on intra-European sales of defence industry products is a step in the direction of a genuinely European defence procurement market, explains the Commission in a press release.
