Brussels, 20/03/2012 (Agence Europe) - The EU has slammed the ban imposed by Russia on 20 March on imports of live animals from Europe, a decision that infringes Russia's WTO commitments.
On 20 March, the European Commission called on Russia to lift the provisional embargo put in place that same day on imports of live pigs, cattle, sheep and goats from the EU, justified by fears over the Schmallenberg virus which appeared in the Europe in 2011.
