Brussels, 08/03/2012 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission announced on Thursday 8 March that the names of four agricultural and food products were to be added to the list of protected designations of origin (PDO) and protected geographical indications (PGI). They are the “Susina de Dro” plum from Italy (PDO), the “Tolminc” cheese from Slovenia (PDO), the “Schwäbische Spätzle” and “Schwäbische Knöplfle” pasta from Germany (PGI) and the “Armagh Bramley Apple” from the United Kingdom (PGI). The four names will be added to the list of over 1,000 products already protected under legislation on the protection of geographical indications, designations of origin and traditional specialities.
