Brussels, 06/03/2012 (Agence Europe) - A conference on enhancing innovation and the delivery of research in EU agriculture will be held in Brussels on 7 March. The conference will discuss the main building blocks of EU support to research and innovation for the agricultural sector after 2013. After setting the stage of agricultural research and learning from recent experiences, the conference will strive to highlight the critical aspects necessary for research to impact the agricultural sector. Speakers will include European Agriculture Commissioner Dacian Ciolos, Danish Agriculture Minister Mette Gjerskov (who chairs the Agriculture Council) and Paolo de Castro, Chairman of the European Parliament agriculture committee. The starting point will be the proposals on the reform of the common agricultural policy (CAP) brought forward by the Commission in October. (LC/transl.rt)
