In Brussels on 16 February, the plenary session of the Committee of the Regions saw the award of the European Entrepreneurial Region label for 2013, to Nord-Pas-de-Calais (France), Southern Denmark and Styria. These regions stand out “with their entrepreneurial and innovative political strategies, their pioneering political vision and firm determination to support the network of entrepreneurial regions, with a view to stimulating regional competitiveness, creating growth and sustainable jobs and promoting the spirit of entrepreneurship, particularly among the younger generation”, said the president of the CoR, Mercedes Bresso.
