15/02/2012 (Agence Europe) - Members of the Parliament's Consultative Council on EP code of conduct are appointed. The president of the European Parliament, Martin Schulz, announced at the opening of the plenary session on Monday 13 February that the MEPs designated as members of the code of conduct consultative council have been appointed. They are: Carlo Casini (EPP, Italy), Evelyn Regner (S&D, Austria), Cecilia Wikström (ALDE, Sweden) and Gerald Häfner (Greens/EFA, Germany). Alternates are Sajjad Karim (ECR, UK) and Jiri Mastalka (GUE, Czech Republic). The committee aims to give guidelines to MEPs and advise the president of the Parliament on measures to be taken should the MEPs' code of conduct be breached. (CG/transl.jl)
