Brussels, 14/12/2011 (Agence Europe) - The European Development Days (EDDs) will get underway in Warsaw on Thursday 15 December, with the event being opened by Polish Under Secretary of State for Development Krysztof Stanowski and European Development Commissioner Andris Piebalgs. The key theme of this, the sixth EDDs, is the link between democracy and development, and focus will be on the Arab revolutions. Interim Prime Minister of Tunisia Beji Caid el Sebsi will deliver a keynote speech.
Over the course of the two days, this high-level discussion forum will bring together development players from all over the world and heads of state. It will also discuss European development policy from 2013, focusing on key sectors for inclusive and sustainable growth, human rights and tackling poverty. (AN/transl.rt)
