Brussels, 20/09/2011 (Agence Europe) - During her meeting with Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Füle in Brussels on Monday 19 September, Vlora Çitaku, Kosovo's Minister for European Integration, informed Füle that her country had lifted the embargo on Serbian goods. She briefed him on the latest developments in implementing the agreement on customs stamps resulting from the discussions between Pristina and Belgrade. The commissioner expressed the hope that reinstating the free movement of goods in both directions would soon be a possibility. He added that he also expected the next series of talks between Serbia and Kosovo to result in new agreements. The negotiators from both these countries will meet again at the end of September as part of the dialogue conducted under the auspices of the EU.
Füle and Çitaku also discussed progress in Kosovo. The commissioner underlined progress made in commercial legislation. On the subject of discussion underway on visa liberalisation, Füle said a task force on the process for reintegration of repatriated persons was in Kosovo last week and will be assessing progress accomplished. He called on the member states to find an agreement on the country's participation in the Citizens' Europe and in cultural programmes. Füle underlined the Commission's support to Kosovo in application of reforms needed within its prospects of European integration. (CG/transl.jl)
