Brussels, 20/09/2011 (Agence Europe) - The Poliglotti4.eu website was set up on Tuesday 20 September. Nine different associations are participating in this internet site initiative which promotes multilingualism, (http://www.poliglotti4.eu ). The site seeks to provide an online reference tool for all kinds of questions linked to the use and teaching of languages in Europe. It also transmits political recommendations from the EU Civil Society Platform on Multilingualism. This body was set up in October 2009 by the European Commission to promote multilingualism in Europe in the areas of culture, media and non-formal education. Initially, it will only be accessible in English but will later propose versions in French and German. (IL/transl.fl)
