19/09/2011 (Agence Europe) - Italy and Greece support Franco-Spanish wish list for fruit and vegetables. This Tuesday 20 September, it will not be just two countries (France and Spain) putting forward measures for new rules for the fruit and vegetable markets, but four, since Italy and Greece rallied to their cause (EUROPE 10446 and 10454). These four countries are proposing four areas of action: - the renewal of the crisis management instruments; - greater market transparency; - improved organisation of production; - more effective market entry price mechanisms. These countries would like to set up a joint committee towards the end of October 2011, to assess the situation of the fruit and vegetable markets over recent months. (LC/transl.fl)
