Brussels, 15/09/2011 (Agence Europe) - European Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Füle is expected to meet with Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich on the sidelines of the 8th Yalta Annual Meeting in Ukraine on Friday 16 September. According to his press attaché, discussions will relate to relations between Kiev and the EU, the association agreement being negotiated and visa policy. They are expected also to tackle the situation of the former prime minister, Yulia Timoshenko. Füle may hold discussions with Moldovan Prime Minister Vladimir Filat and the minister responsible for talks on Turkey's accession to the EU, Egemen Bagis. He also hopes to meet Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov and Foreign Minister Konstantin Grichenko. The presence of the commissioner at the international meeting on the theme “Ukraine and the World: Common Challenges, Common Future”, until 18 September, will be marked by talks on neighbourhood policy and the role of the EU in Eastern Europe.
