15/09/2011 (Agence Europe) - Flabeg/SchottSolar/SBP Sonne Joint-Venture. On 15 September, the European Commission granted clearance to the creation of a new joint venture between Flabeg, Schott Solar CSP and SBP Sonne, three German market players. The newly created joint venture is active in the development and distribution of concepts, systems and components, which convert concentrated sunlight into heat for use in concentrated solar power plants. Flabeg is active in specialty glass for automotive, technical and solar applications. Schott is active in receivers for concentrated solar power plants and SBPS is active in engineering services. The operation was examined under the simplified merger review procedure. (FG/transl.fl)
