Creativity promotion day

Brussels, 07/09/2011 (Agence Europe) - The whole of Saturday 10 September will be spent promoting citizen-based and creative entrepreneurship. The event will be aimed at young people aged between 14-34 and will take place at the Villa Ancilotto site in Crocetta del Montello (Treviso, Italy). Discussion tables, musical areas and different meetings will be some of the methods employed to achieve this aim. The slogan for the event is “Flying does you good: give me room to do it. We are the creative citizens.” The event is being organised by the Regional Observatory for Social Policies in collaboration with the borough of Crocetta del Montello. Other participants include the city of Marseilles, the region of Carinthia (Austria) and Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Remo Sernagiotto, the head of the regional department for social services in the Venice region and president of the European local inclusion & social action network and ENSA (European network of social authorities) stated that “we wanted to organise a day in which we could speak to young people and with young people about issues involving their future (in an effort to) promote the potential for innovation and creativity that the younger generations bring to each era” by making a practical investment in ways of bringing these opportunities about. This event will be preceded on Friday 9 September by an international meeting of ENSA for Youth Health, at the same location. This will be part of the European Commission “Youth in Action” programme and the European Year for Volunteering. (J.K./transl.fl)
