04/07/2011 (Agence Europe) - Poland to steer Stability Pact dossier. It is “unlikely that the legislative package designed to reinforce economic governance within the EU (six-pack) will be adopted quickly”, the Polish minister for European affairs, Mikolaj Dowgielewicz, predicted on Sunday 3 July. If there is no political agreement between the Council and the European Parliament, the MEPs will probably not vote for the reform of the Stability and Growth Pact this week and it will be the job of the Polish Presidency to find a compromise to satisfy the two co-legislator institutions (EUROPE 10409).
