27/06/2011 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 27 June, the European Commission authorised a six-month prolongation (until 31 December 2011) of a bank support scheme in Lithuania, consisting of state guarantees, asset relief measures and recapitalisations in the form of subordinated loans. It found the prolongation of the scheme, initially approved on 5 August 2010 (see EUROPE 10197) and prolonged on 21 January 2011 until the end of June 2011, to be in line with its guidance on state aid to banks during the crisis. In particular, the measures are limited in time and scope and require the submission of a restructuring plan in the event of granting recapitalisation and asset relief measures. (F.G./transl.jl)
