18/05/2011 (Agence Europe) - No proof of German involvement in attack on EU offices in Pristina. Due to a lack of evidence, the EU rule of law mission to Kosovo (EULEX) on Wednesday 18 May closed an investigation against three German nationals suspected of involvement in the attack carried out in 2008 against the offices of the international representative to Pristina, AFP reports. According to the spokesperson to the mission, quoted by the same agency, "the dossier has been filed by the EULEX prosecutors" after a "detailed investigation" carried out by the mission's experts. According to AFP, the three German nationals were arrested on 19 November 2008, due to suspicions voiced by the Kosovar authorities. Pristina suspected them of throwing an incendiary device at the International Civilian Office (ICO) headed up by the EU special envoy to Kosovo, Pieter Feith. From the start of the case, Berlin dismissed any idea of German involvement in the attack as "absurd". (A.By./transl.fl)
