Denmark, United Kingdom and Ireland stick to opt-out on cross-border prosecution of traffic offences

Brussels, 17/03/2011 (Agence Europe) - Going back on the position that they had expressed last year, Denmark, the United Kingdom and Ireland have decided not, for now, to participate in the European system for facilitating the prosecution of non-resident drivers having committed traffic offences. They may join in at a later date, however, on a basis of notification (United Kingdom and Ireland) or an international agreement sealed on this in the case of Denmark.
