On 18 February, the European Commission authorised the following acquisitions, all of which were examined under the simplified examination procedure: - the American venture capital company Bain Capital, which invests private funds in a number of industrial sectors around the world, took control of the Dutch distributor of speciality chemicals, including food and pharmaceutical ingredients, IMCD Holding B.V., and its subsidiaries. IMCD has offices in Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia; - Lufthansa Technik AG (LHT, Germany), a wholly owned subsidiary of Deutsche Lufthansa AG, which is active in the maintenance of aircraft and their components, and Panasonic Avionics Corporation (PAC, United States), a subsidiary of the Japanese industrial giant Panasonic Corporation, will take joint control of the German company Idair GmbH, which will manufacture and provide specific equipment for aircraft cabins; - multinational petrochemical group INEOS has taken sole control of INEOS NOVA (styrene monomer, polystyrenes and other products) by share purchase.
