15/02/2011 (Agence Europe) - EU/Brazil, visa exemption. EU citizens wishing to visit Brazil on business or holiday will be allowed into the country without a visa for trips of up to 3 months, under new rules on visas approved by the European Parliament on Tuesday 15 February. Estonia, Latvia, Malta and Cyprus, which previously still had to apply for a visa, will also enjoy the exemption. The MEPs adopted the conclusion of two visa exemption agreements with Brazil, one for holders of ordinary passports and the other for the holders of diplomatic or service/official sports. These agreements will add to, rather than replace, the existing bilateral agreements between the various member states of the EU and Brazil, and which cover travel for purposes other than tourism and business.
