Brussels, 14/02/2011 (Agence Europe) -In December 2010 compared with November 2010, seasonally adjusted industrial production fell by 0.1% in both the eurozone (EU16) and the EU27. In November 2010, industrial production rose by 1.4% and 1.2% respectively, according to estimates published by the EU statistics office Eurostat on Monday 14 February. In December 2010 compared with December 2009, industrial production grew by 8.0% in the euro area and by 7.7% in the EU27. Compared with 2009, the average production index for 2010 increased by 7.1% in the eurozone and by 6.7% in the EU27.
Monthly comparison. The strongest rises in industrial production in December 2010 were in Slovenia (4.2%), Portugal (3.8%) and Estonia (1.3%), and the greatest falls in Latvia (-1.9%), Ireland (-1.7%) and Denmark (-1.3%).
Annual comparison. Industrial production rose in all countries apart from Greece (-5.2%), Malta (-3.1%) and Spain (-0.1%). (L.C./transl.fl)
