On 31 January, Brussels played host to a conference which took stock of five years of the EU-China Managers and Exchange Training Programme (METP), a joint initiative of the Chinese government and the European Commission which aims to reinforce bilateral relations in a modern and sustainable way, by manager exchanges and economic cooperation. Representatives of the European executive and of the Chinese authorities on Monday reasserted their commitment to focusing on developing human resources in the context of bilateral economic relations.
