24/11/2010 (Agence Europe) - Falls in industrial new orders in September. According to estimates published on Wednesday 24 November by Eurostat, in September 2010 compared with August 2010, the euro area (EA16) industrial new orders index fell by 3.8%. In August the index rose by 5.1%. In the EU27, new orders decreased by 2.5% in September 2010, after a gain of 3.5% in August. Excluding ships, railway & aerospace equipment, for which changes tend to be more volatile, industrial new orders declined by 3.3% in the euro area and by 0.7% in the EU27. In September 2010 compared with September 2009, industrial new orders grew by 13.5% in the euro area and by 13.4% in the EU27. Total industry excluding ships, railway & aerospace equipment rose by 15.6% and 15.2% respectively. (O.L./transl.fl)
