23/11/2010 (Agence Europe) - “AeroWeek” at the European Parliament for getting to know the European aerospace industry better. The European Aerospace Industry (ASD), the vice president of the Sky and Space Intergroup at the European Parliament Dominique Baudis (EPP, France) and the Belgian Presidency of the Council of Ministers of the EU are organising a week focusing on the European aerospace industry in Europe (AeroWeek) from 30 November - 3 December at the European Parliament. The European commissioner for transport Siim Kallas, the Belgian minister for the economy Jean-Claude Marcourt, the chief executive officer at Airbus Tom Enders, the chief executive officer of EADS-CASA and the president of the ASD Domingo Ureña-Raso, the president of the transport committee at the EP Brian Simpson (S&D, United Kingdom) and his counterpart at the internal market committee Malcolm Harbour (ECR, United Kingdom) will all be participating in this event. AeroWeek includes a series of conferences and is expected to facilitate an examination and presentation of the resources available to the European aeronautical industry for tackling: - climate change challenges; - competition from emerging countries; - the need for innovation, economic development and growth in Europe.
