A reliable diplomatic sources confirmed on Friday afternoon that after renewed discussions with the 3+3 group (Germany, China, the United States, France, the UK and Russia), Catherine Ashton had responded favourably to the Iranian authorities on Friday and had given her agreement to the resumption of talks on 5 December. It is not yet known where the talks will take place. Tehran is suggesting Istanbul, but Ashton reportedly prefers the talks to take place somewhere in Europe, Switzerland for example. (H.B./transl fl)
