Virgilio Dastoli is CIME President

Brussels, 08/11/2010 (Agence Europe) - During an extraordinary meeting last month, the Italian Council of the European Movement (CIME) carried out renewal of its head appointments. Pier Virgilio Dastoli has been elected president to succeed Valerio Zanone. The post of secretary general has gone to Stefano Mila.

A former assistant of Altiero Spinelli at the European Parliament, Pier Virgilio Dastoli previously served as general secretary of the European Movement, head of the Commission's representation in Italy and spokesman for the Permanent Forum of European Civil Society in Brussels. A federalist, he teaches the history of European integration at the University of Rome. Pier Virgilio Dastoli, who is a qualified lawyer in international law, has many works on European themes to his name. (G.B./transl.jl)
