Brussels, 27/10/2010 (Agence Europe) - Maintaining the European Social Fund (ESF) as the key instrument and integral part of a strong regional policy covering the whole of Europe, and the implementation of a decentralised ESF to ensure the results best suited to the needs of the regions, will be at the heart of discussions between Conference of the Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR) president Jean-Yves Le Drian and Social Affairs Commissioner László Andor.
The two will meet in Brussels on 3 November as part of the debate on the future of European policies after 2013. At this meeting, Le Drian will set out the CPMR policy position, adopted in June 2010, “Achieving the EU 2020 Objectives on Employment, Education, training and Social inclusion: a regionally differentiated European Social Fund at the heart of European policy after 2013”.
