Brussels, 26/10/2010 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 25 October the European Commission cleared the planned acquisition of SSL International by Reckitt Benckiser, both of them British pharmaceutical companies. As initially notified, the Commission felt that the deal might have caused competition concerns in the market for mouth pain relief in the UK and Ireland, due to the high market share held by the two companies and the market strength of their brands.
