Brussels, 26/10/2010 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 26 October, Belgian Finance Minister Didier Reynders announced his intention to organise a special meeting of European finance ministers at the end of November or in early December. Two items will be on the agenda: - reform of economic governance on the basis of the legislative package presented by the European Commission and in the light of the European Council's specific guidelines this Thursday; - and the proposal for a directive attributing oversight of financial rating agencies to the European Supervision and Markets Authority (ESMA). For the latter, the aim is to reach an agreement at first reading under Belgian presidency, as the European Parliament has planned to vote on this text during the December plenary session.
