Brussels, 18/10/2010 (Agence Europe) - In 2010, Cameroon can count on €31 million of EU development aid to improve governance, extend trade, increase competitiveness in farming and develop a more effective partnership with the EU.
On Monday 18 October, the European Commission approved Cameroon's annual action programme under the 10th European Development Fund (EDF).
Some €20 million will be allocated to improving farm productivity in dairy farming, cotton, cocoa and coffee. Some €7 million will go to the civil society support programme to help it play a greater role in economic, political and social governance and development policies. Some €4 million will be earmarked for the support programme for the national authorising officer to ensure gradual transfer of operational responsibility to technical ministries and thereby help improve the quality of partnership between the EU and Cameroon.
