15/10/2010 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 14 October, the European Investment Bank (EIB) confirmed its commitment to improving access to water and quality of life in Africa with a €140 million loan for the €282 million Metolong Dam and Water Supply Programme. This is a key element in the government of Lesotho's poverty reduction strategy. The EIB loan encompasses the Metalong Dam itself along with related infrastructure, conveyance system, water treatment works, environmental and social management and institutional support.
