Brussels, 15/10/2010 (Agence Europe) - Education, Culture, Youth and Multilingualism Commissioner Androulla Vassiliou opened a Youth on the Move event in Bordeaux on Thursday 14 October. Youth on the Move is the new initiative to help young people acquire the knowledge, skills and experience they need to land a job. Young people and national agencies from all over Europe will take part in two days of debates and exchanges which will highlight the need to modernise education and training, and encourage more young people to make use of EU grants to study or train abroad, through programmes such as Erasmus and Leonardo da Vinci. Youth on the Move is an integral part of the EUROPE 2020 strategy which aims to boost employment and create smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. (I.L./transl.rt)
