24/09/2010 (Agence Europe) - The new campus of Masaryk University in Brno (Czech Republic) was officially inaugurated on Thursday 23 September. The construction of this campus was part of a project implemented with the financial support of the European Investment Bank (EIB) which, as the Bank of the European Union, issued a loan of 95 million euros in 2002 to the Czech Republic. The second plank of this project includes the renovation of existing university buildings in the town centre. This project, which is jointly funded by the EIB, is the first ever in the fields of health and education in a country of Central and Eastern Europe which joined the European Union in 2004.
