24: 09/2010 (Agence Europe) - A Guantanamo prison detainee, Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, the main suspect in the attack against the American vessel USS Cole in 2000, has recently asked the Polish public prosecution office to conduct an investigation into the torture he claims to have suffered in a secret CIA prison in Poland. This request to open an investigation in Poland is the first to be made by a Guantanamo prisoner regarding suspected CIA sites in Poland. Warsaw has always strongly denied the claims of the Council of Europe and revelations in the media, particularly the American press, that members of Al-Qaeda had been held by the CIA in Poland. At the end of July, a Polish NGO announced that it had obtained official information regarding seven aircraft with links to the CIA, five of which were carrying passengers, which landed in Poland between 2002 and 2003 at Szymany airport in the north-east of the country.
