23/09/2010 (Agence Europe) - In a statement published in New York on 22 September on behalf of the “E3+3” group (United States, Russia, China, France, Germany and Russia), the EU high representative for foreign affairs, Catherine Ashton, reiterated the “determination and commitment” of the “Six” to reach a negotiated solution with Tehran on Iran's nuclear programme. They say they are ready to meet as soon as possible with the Iranian authorities to discuss “implementing the understandings reached in Geneva on 1 October 2009”, the statement reads. The Six also suggest that the general director of the IAEA, Y. Amano, should convene a further meeting of the Vienna Group on the technical implementation of the arrangement regarding supplies of nuclear fuel for the Tehran research reactor (TRR).
