23/09/2010 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 23 September, the EU management committee voted to sell, by tender, 820 tonnes of intervention skimmed milk powder with the minimum price set at €214 per 100kg (the average Community price is €213.10 per 100kg). The management committee authorised the destocking of one tonne of butter from France (the minimum sales prices was set at €356 per 100kg). However, it rejected the offers from Estonia and Lithuania for the purchase of public butter. The quantities of such butter in these two countries (1,554 tonnes in all) will be reserved for the most deprived persons scheme. At the next (the 8th) tender, on 7 October, 1,554 tonnes of butter (though this will be for the scheme to help the most deprived) and 77,033 tonnes of intervention skimmed milk powder will be put up for sale (see EUROPE 10212 for the results of the last tender at the start of September).
