Parliament condemns stoning sentence passed on Sakineh Mohammadi-Ashtiani

Brussels, 08/09/2010 (Agence Europe) - In a resolution supported by all the political groups, adopted by 658 votes to 1, with 22 abstentions, on Wednesday 8 September, the European Parliament (EP) “strongly condemns” the death sentence by stoning pronounced on Iranian Sakineh Mohammadi-Ashtiani and it called on Iranian authorities to set aside the sentence imposed and to review the case.
