Belgium is threatened with fine of €15 million and daily payments of €62,000 for failing to comply with legislation on waste water treatment

Brussels, 24/06/2010 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has decided to go one step further in infringement proceedings against Belgium and Luxembourg - entailing the risk of heavy financial penalties for Belgium - for continued failure to comply with the EU directive on the treatment of urban wastewater (Directive 91/271/EEC).
