20/05/2010 (Agence Europe) - During a meeting of president Van Rompuy's task force on Friday 21 May, Wolfgang Schäuble will present his proposals for enhancing budgetary discipline (suspension of European fund payments and voting rights, the insertion of “brake on debt” in the constitutions of member states, the evaluation of national budget projects by the ECB or by independent bodies, bankruptcy proceedings). The president of the European Council will submit a working document to finance ministers (or their representatives) at this first-ever meeting, which begins at 14: 00 hours. Those attending the meeting will include the Spanish presidency, the European Central bank and the commissioner for economic and monetary affairs, Olli Rehn. As president of Eurogroup, Jean-Claude Juncker will also attend. (A.B.)
