Airlines want fair compensation for costs of closure of European airspace

Brussels, 03/05/2010 (Agence Europe) - Ahead of the special meeting of EU transport ministers on Tuesday 3 May to discuss the fallout from the Icelandic volcanic ash crisis, European airlines are stepping up their calls for the introduction of an aid mechanism to compensate them for financial loss as a result of the volcanic ash crisis (see EUROPE 10130).
