29/04/2010 (Agence Europe) - Implementation of the “EU-Central Asia Strategy for a new Partnership”, adopted in June 2007, was the focus of a ministerial meeting with the five countries held in Brussels on 28 April. Under the chairmanship of Miguel Angel Moratinos (Spanish foreign minister replacing Catherine Ashton during her visit to Asia), the foreign ministers of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan spoke of the different cooperation chapters of the strategy such as dialogue on human rights, energy, transport and the environment. Moratinos also held bilateral talks with the Kyrgyz minister on measures that the interim government, which has been in place since President Bakiev's departure, plans to take to restore constitutional order and ensure respect of rule of law in Kyrgyzstan.
